The heart behind Berglands

Sari Ilivitzky-Kalliomaa is a Finnish veterinarian and horse breeder.
She breeds Finnish Warmblood horses (FWB) under the name Berglands. The family’s breeding tradition in Finland began in the early 1980s but horses have been a part of life for several generations. 

Kalliomaa has a long and diverse background with horses and equestrian sports. She actively competed for the Finnish show jumping team in all age categories throughout the 1980s and 1990s. She has won Finnish Championship medals in every age group, as well as the Nordic Team Championship, and has achieved international rankings. Kalliomaa has also worked as a rider for several Olympic-level stables, including those of Gerd Wiltfang, Alexandra Ledermann, and Paul Darragh.

Today, Kalliomaa continues to ride, train, and compete with young show jumping horses with her family. Alongside her horses, everyday life also includes family’s beloved dachshunds.
